| We photograph
all of Revolutionary Realty’s listings for our website
and all of the individual websites using an aerial photography
platform called that we named “RealtyCam”.
Here’s how it works:
First, we travel to the site, survey it, find out where
I can place the blimp (it is 18’ feet long and about
8’ across). We need to know the orientation of the
property, in order to determine if we need to be present
in the afternoon or the morning. On the day of the shoot,
(hopefully blue skies with a few clouds, but NOT too windy),
we arrive on site with a 26’ Box Van, with the RealtyCam
in the rear, inflated & ready to go. Onsite, we assemble
the camera frame, remove the blimp from the truck, and get
ready for launch!
The blimp is attached to a tether, the short one is 300
feet long and the long is 1,000 feet long.
On the ground, we use a control station. From it, we control
(wireless) pan, tilt, zoom & trigger the camera to take
INCREDIBLE pictures. The camera is a Canon 40D, using 10.1
million effective pixels, with a Canon 17-85 Image Stabilized
Lens. The Ground Station has a small video monitor, and
we are able to view through the eye of the lense from above.
It is amazing what a few hundred feet can do. Once the pictures
are taken, they are edited using Adobe Photoshop CS4 w/
Extension. The results are sometimes…….Stunning.
